Colin Firth

There must be something to dislike about Colin Firth. Still looking. He has natural comic timing of a very British diffident style perfect in Love Actually, Bridget Jones etc, and even in his recent BAFTA acceptance speech. Unlike most Hollywood actors he does emotions from A to Z, not stopping at I. Obviously genuinely committed to certain causes, he’s not afraid to change political allegiance when disappointed (a rarity, an actor not after a knighthood, and unlikely to be offered one given his republican views). Not afraid either to mix the heavy e.g. A Single Man with froth like Mamma Mia! And he comes across as a bloke who’d be good pub company, with his face getting a tiny bit fatter not resented as much as previously. A genuinely likeable hero.
