Cumbria Reports

Caldbeck, Cumbria

Review of Caldbeck by Steve on May 2nd, 2006
Caldbeck - 28th April to the 30th 2006. My wife and I stayed at the Oddfellows Arms. This was a most perfect weekend. Nothing but nothing was a bother to the staff who made our stay absolutely wonderful. Locals are the friendliest bunch we have come across in along time in our travels around the Lakes, although I have to say overall Cumbrians are the nicest people in the UK. Food was to die for, Lamb Jennings a must have. Trout fillets were great too. Beer, the perfect pints are served here. Try out the Watermill to for a bite to eat, cheese platters are great value. We made friends with a couple on a break for their anniversary, up from Bolton. Our only regret was not seeing them before we left. All the best for the future to Ian and Chris. All in all a relaxing, (want to stay in Caldbeck 4ever) break.
