Having passed this pub several times and popped in once, we decided to wait until the smoking ban was in force to enjoy the menu. How we wished we hadn't bothered. My partner is vegetarian and it's always a pleasure to see a vegetarian section to the menu however (as is mostly the case these days) it was awful. The fact that it came cold in the first place and had to be sent back was also an inconvenience. The fact that the mushroom stroganoff tasted like tinned mushroom soup with some over cooked mushrooms in it was the second issue. The roast potatoes were nuked from lunch time (although the landlord assured us that they had been cooked not two hours previous)The veg was ordinary and without any real care. The service was amateur and all in all a very painful loss of £30. This is a locals pub whose locals must obviously be completely incapable of being able to cook toast if they accept this faire from their local hostelry !!! We paid, complained politely and were offered a free mushroom streoggers the next time .....the next time? I think not.
