Been drinking in the Globe since I moved back into Lympstone a year ago. Great Landlord/Lady Dave and Sheila. Friendly and great hosts. Superb beer, currently Bass (best pint for miles) Adnams Broadside and Otter. Aspalls Cider and Addlestones Cider plus the usual fizz. Great food, daughter treated me to a seafood sizzler last night awesome. An oasis of proper "pubness" in a charming village, what more do you want?

This is a crackingly friendly little village local. I only dropped in for a quick beer whilst cycling the Exe Estuary Trail but was immediately made to feel welcome.
Chatty barman, friendly locals, roaring log fire and good beer all gave it a proper pub feel.

Just had to say what a great band at The Globe at the weekend. I don't normally stay because live music has got progressively worse in pubs. My wife and I could hear each other speak and the music was fantastic. If there was more music like that around we would go out more. There's nothing in pubs to attract intelligent discerning people and that has to be down to landlords. Rather than complain how tough it is, get in some quailty entertainment and maybe that would do the trick, that's my advice.
