I Went here as a child with my parents and Brother and this pub completely freaked me out. I for some reason didn't want to go in and when I did, after seeing the inside and the dead animals in the room, apparently I ran out and refused to go back in. I sat outside with my crisps and coke in the car. Iv'e since been told that I can sence dead people but I won't accept it. So possibly I senced tbe dead Mariners! :(

Having read the reviews and the website I was eager to visit this pub for lunch with my family on the journey home to North Devon from Cornwall as it was ideally located just 5 mins off the A30.
The outside of the pub and gardens looked spectacular unfortunately that was as far as we got as it was closed despite it being 12.30 on a Monday in July and despite the website saying it would be open.
What a shame! but we went on a little further down the road to the Fox and Hounds where we enjoyed a scrumptious lunch

Hello to you all. Hoping this e-mail finds you well. This will be my third visit to The Highwayman, and each time I enter the pub words always fail to do me justice, It just blows my mind everytime. I have never come accross such an unusual magnetic pub as this. It would take at least a whole day to injest everything that this amazing pub has to offer! When you enter you will appreciate the magnificence and magic of the pub. Whether you're into ghostly goings on (as there are more than a few here) All I can say is don't forget to make a wish!! My favourite pub. always.
