Visiting from Australia and I had a very nice relaxing lunch with relatives from the UK. The smokers were outside and the staff were polite. A down to earth type atmosphere in a charming old Pub.

I was staying in the village at a different hotel and thought I'd try the food at The Teesdale Hotel. The menu looked ok - a little dated maybe. The food was average. nothing special at all. the staff were friendly enough - but were smoking behind the bar which (even as a smoker myself) I found horrible. Overall a disapointment. The hotel looks lovely from the outside, but looks can be deceiving. Such a shame because the village is well worth a visit.
