We were very disappointed with the Sunday lunch, we were looking forward to a traditional roast. The meal was served with the meat, yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes on top of beetroot puree and rocket salad. The food was covered in the beetroot puree (we had to ask what it was, and certainly would not have wanted it)the rocket salad had wilted under the warm food and gravy. The yorkshire pudding was burnt around the edges and uncooked in the centre. The pork crackling looked nice but tasted like charcoal. The vegetables did not taste fresh. Our complaints were met ungraciously, they said they always served the meal that way. There was no awareness of improving the service by listening to complaints. We asked to speak to the chef firstly, we heard him shouting at the woman for approaching him, we then asked to speak to the owner, the reply from him was passed on through the same woman who said he was far too busy with his computer work to speak to us (the customers). In retrospect we should have just walked out when we received the food. The owner eventually agreed to for us to pay for one meal only, he proceeded to pass messages to us through a third person. The young bar staff were courteous. At £11.95 per meal we expected a lot better than this.

Took my friend to this charming Cotswold inn what a gem of a find. Charming atmosphere, really helpfully staff and excellent food. Had the mussels which were to die for.

Visited the Bull at Hinton as it looked very nice and since my girlfriend and I had been walking we wre in need of a refreshment. There was only about six people in the pub and two of those were the landlord and his wife. BOTH miserable to the extreme. The landlord sat down to have his dinner and proceeded to shout to his staff that they were doing things wrong very unprofessional. We were there for about an hour andwe did not feel comfortable at all and I would dread to think anyone would want to have a wedding reception there as we spoke to some local people in Bath and they had some horror stories to tell. Save your money and please go elsewhere.

Nice pub and location, but limited menu, overpriced and small portions.Had to wait over 40 minutes for main courses after starters and when they arrived were not the dishes ordered.Would have expected much better from establishment mentioned in most major restaurant/pub guides.

I visited the Bull Inn yesterday for Sunday lunch - this was my first visit although I have been to other establishments with the same owner. I found the service appalling, it was obvious that if you were known to the staff you were served first. No one took the trouble to explain how we ordered and no reference to Sunday Roast was visible - we had to request this information which was only forthcoming after a long wait at the bar. Had the Bull been extremely busy one could accept a slight wait but this was not the case as there were only 3 tables occupied in the restaurant when we sat down. The food on arrival although adequate was not up to the standard we have come to expect from dining in your other establishments and the 'desert' dessert menu was very limited. Also larger tables or smaller plates may be used as the plates were far to large for the table. I felt I had to put this in print as we were bitterly disappointed - it was an awful day weather wise made worse by the foregoing experiences. On a good note the red wine was absolutely perfect and served at the correct temperature. Mary Climo
