What a lovely restaurant! Not only a beautifully decorated place with the cosiness of open fires in total keeping with the building. Warm and friendly landlady, Kim and helpful and attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble - even warmed a bottle of milk for a guest's baby. Food was well cooked and served in good time with no huge long waits between courses. Lots of nice little touches such as individual terry towels and hand cream in the toilets. A lot of though and care is taken with this establishment. My friend and I will be returning and recommending it to others.

I said I would update! Our 45th Wedding Anniversary Vicky and Ant and Elizabeth picked us up at 11.30 am and off to the Half Moon at Kirdford for a lunch of 12 with family and friends. Jem and Jon came down from London, Lisa from Godalming, Sandra and Dick from Worcester Park and Sue and Roger from Essex. What a smashing lunch. Kim had prepared a beautiful table for us in this stunning old pub/restaurant which we have really only just discovered. Nicky served us with great attentiveness and everyone so enjoyed it all. Excellent food in lovely ambient surroundings and in good company. What else could one want and Sheila and are set for the next 45 years!! Our thanks to Kim and all at the Half Moon. You are stuck with us now.

The "Half Moon" at Kirdford, W Sussex...........04/08/09 Bored with this chronic Summer, we ventured out for a short drive and found one of those pure gems just West of Wisborough Green. I will write more on this one as I am constantly disappointed by pubs and restaurants but this is a huge find....

this pub/restaurant was a total delight, from the christmas card image village, to the quaint and cosy interior, it was like being in a film set. sparkling coloured glassware, crips white table linens, delicious food, friendly, charming service. everything about it was a pleasure and i cannot wait to return.

decided to return to the half moon during a recent business trip, after my first visit in January last year was so impressive. Well i could not have been more wrong this time, a complete and utter embarassment for my colleques and myself, shabby menus, poorly written with no imagination, the food beggered belief, i eat out alot and can certainly tell if food is fresh and of good quality, this meal missed the mark so far that i can only presume the person cooking (certainly not a real Chef)was on a mission to completely show that anyone can run a pub and churn out poor, uninteresting, pointless and sub standard food.

was recommended this pub by close freinds whom had dinned recently, was not sure what to expect as dine out, mostly at fine dinning restaurants & hotels,on business & with colleques. Well, very impresed and completely supprised, what looks like a little country pub from the outside is not what i found apon entering. Crystal cut glasses, white table cloths & napkins, fine china and freshly cut flowers.the wine list is extensive and very well priced, the menus in plain english and again very good value for money, ok can the food live up to my now growing expectations.... YES, wonderfully presented, amazing fresh flavours, seasonal and just anough to fill you up, but leave you still wanting to try more!!!, live jazz playing, open fires and good company and even greater dinning experience, one i will be certain to repeat.
