Would love to say the food was great but since we had to leave without sampling any I cant really comment.Went because of good reviews;left because a grumpy barman/landlord REFUSED to say when we could expect to be fed because they had a large party in.He 'didnt want us complaining'.Well I'm complaining now.Clearly so popular they dont care how they treat their customers.

I organised a Christmas Party at the Brown cow on the 15th December 07 for 41 people. It was one of the best Nights we have had. The room large and not cramped. I have been getting praise for the night for the last 4 days. The service was brilliant, the food superb. Matthew the resturant manager has the place running like clock work. Hot food and very tasty. Well done and Thank you. FCrank Prentice BT Openreach

During my trip back to the UK from the Republic of Panama my sister, brother-in-law, nephew and neice (who live in Dalton) suggested the Brown Cow for an evening meal. The service was excellent, atmosphere delightful and the meal was superb. My sister and brother-in-law both had child portions -- which were large enough to satisfy any adult. My scampi was cooked to perfection, the breading crisp but not greasy as were the chips. My nephew had fish -- so large it overhung the oval plate!! I would highly recommend the Brown Cow for ambience, service and food at a very reasonable price.
