we have been to this pub for meals on a number of occasions and always had a nice meal, hence why we had returned. However friends & I went last night. A friend ordered a bruschetta for a starter, but couldn't eat the starter as it was chopped mushrooms & sour cream. At the end of our meal we went to pay. Our friend suggested that underneath the item on the menu perhaps they could put a description as to what the item contained, as other people could be allergic to mushrooms. The Manageress (owner) said that the Chef would be speaking to his friend Anthony Worrall-Thompson she said this in an agressive manner obviously to try & make us feel/look bad. The Managresses then said it's not the first time you have been in here to which we said we had been before, & the Manageress then said that it wasn't the first time that we had money off our bill. I was completely shocked at this as we have always paid our bill in full & even given tips. The Manageresses attitude was terrible, and if that's the way in which she speaks to customers, I'm surprised she has any customers. I would not recommend this pub, if fact if you want a nice meal in the area & want to be treated nicely by staff then go to The Queens at Freehay.
