Having lived in the area for a number of years and have always hesitated going back to this pub sinced they served me soggy battered fish and rubbery chips, I thought I wouldn't go back again, but after 5 years, I and my family thought we would give it another go, seeing we were in the area again. Bad mistake! We had the kids sausages and chips and adult burger and chips. I asked for the both chips to be cheesy chips. The burger was obviously mass produced and the kids meal was pathetic. To top it all they charged for sprinkling cheese on the chips. Both meals came to £13 which is about £5 more than it is worth for mass produced food and little of it. I am afraid this food would not be out of place in a Hastings Town pub but not a country pub. Teachers report; Good do better, won't make anything of themselves when grown up.
