The Gwyn is a beautiful old pub set amid stunning scenery. The food is wonderfuly cooked, very reasonably priced and plentiful. The staff are friendly polite and helpful there's no rushing you to finish as in some establishments. This is a family affair and guests are greeted as old friends, a very friendly and relaxed place to eat we certainly won't be going elsewhere any time soon.

I would like to say a big thank you to Gail and her team at the Gwyn Arms who made my daughter and son in law's wedding day so special. Everyone raved about the food both day and night, and the lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic pub which we will visit for many family occasions in the future.

We chose the Gwyn Arms for our wedding reception this Saturday after visiting them regularly for food over the last 2 years. The previous review on this site seems very inaccurate as we have just had a fantastic wedding there with superb food that our guests could not believe. Everyone who came is raving about the food and the atmosphere of this pub and all are keen to return. We regularly eat here and are always happy with the price we pay as the meals are absolutley huge. We feel the prices are really good here, which is why we pass several pubs in our area and travel 35 minutes just to eat at the Gwyn Arms. Not only that but all meals are homecooked to perfection. If you want a cheapy steak/lasagne with a handful of luke warm chips and some limp lettuce go somewhere where they serve 2 meals for £6.

I would not reccomend this pub if you are on a budget, we went lunchtime and had lasagne and a lamb steak. the Childrens chicken bites and chips were £6.95. A mug of Milky coffee was £3.25. Our Bill for 2 meals, 3 coffees, a coke, a dessert and a childs meal at lunchtime was £41.00 odd. the food was ok, wont be attending again. I queried the porice of the coffee and was told "well it is made of all milk".

The Gwyn Arms is the best place to go for an excellent quality, home cooked meal in the swansea/neath/pontardawe area. The food is outstanding, home made desserts to die for. Very generous portions, local produce used and fantastic home made chips. Great staff who make you very welcome, there is a lovely atmosphere inside and a wonderful, safe play area for kids outside. It is well worth travelling for as we do on a regular basis, as nothing else in our area competes with the quality of this pub.

The pub had recently re-opened after a fire and the whole family made us feel immedietly welcome. We enjoyed some great beer and two fantastic meals which were massive and very reasonably priced. The chips were homemade and the best i've ever had and would recommed a visit just to try them! All in all a great place with lovely people, will definetly be stopping in again for dinner when we are back in the area. Nicky and kev

Fabulous pub. Friendly family run pub with extremely reasonable prices for very generous portions of home made food. Everything is made fresh to order and there is plenty of choice on the menu. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff throughout our visit and were impressed by the enthusiam that the staff shaed when recommending places to visit or telling us about the history of the area. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone and we certainly wish to visit again.
