Heavy rain so the ground was a quagmire which clearly couldn't be avoided. But having arrived at lunchtime we feel utterly ripped off. We were cheerfully charged the full £10 entrance fee to find not a single functioning steam engine of any sort, no shows and most exhibitors packing their gear away and leaving early. Never again!

I don't usually get round to writing reviews but felt so ripped off by the expensive admission prices I wanted to warn other families thinking of going to look elsewhere. The fair is so commercial inside with very little included free in the admission price. Most of it was just a market or a car boot sale. There were no free tractor rides and very little aimed at children. With no special family ticket it was £30 to enter for 2 adults and 2 children. There was only a cheap plan of the site given. The shows were just boring parades. I can't believe one guy just walked round holding a chicken in the "grand animal parade" which featured very few animals. I think they definitely shouldn't have charged for children and ideally even the adult prices should have been cheaper. For the money paid it was very poor quality and we had to spend quite a bit further inside to entertain the children. Even the slide wanted to charge £4 for our 2 children to slide on!I have written to the organisers to request some of our entrance fee money back! Be warned!
