The phone number listed for Stratford upon Avon's Marks & Spencer (Bridge Street) does not work causing much frustration! I have called four times now and each time I am greeted by a ladies monotonous (recorded) voice asking me to press 'nought' or 'hold' to speak to an operator and each time I am duly cut off!

Is it not time that M&S woke up to the fact that service to customers is important and that profit is not everything. When trying to order food from their "Christmas food to order" catalogue I was told that only one collection slot was available and that was it. I wonder what would have happened if this slot had been full before the cut of date for ordering - turn custom away. Why isn't M&S management more flexible in their approach to customers - if there is a bottle neck for goodness sake do something, don't turn business away through blinkered thinking.

Re Stratford upon Avon branch:- Everything fine, -merchandise surroundings staff(friendly and helpful as usual)food section well stocked and tempting ,- but oh that AWFUL MUSIC! Please please rethink your policy on this , it is distracting and cheapens the store.Today it was particularly unpleasant and intrusive, - a screeching caterwaul. From speaking to friends I know there are many people who feel this way. How about trying a survey of your customers? yours in anticipation -Valerie Sluman
