I visited this pub yesterday with my son and daughter in law. When our food came the young ones asked for tomato ketchup which was brought to the table. Shortly afterwards we heard the proprietor sneering at us for putting tomato sauce on the food. I spoke to him about this and received a less than effusive apology which I accepted in good grace. I then returned to my table only to hear him again speaking to his staff about us, sneering and grimacing. I think this man should realise that he is in a service industry and the customer is always right. Putting the word "jus" on his menu does not make him a gentleman. Good manners cost nothing and make the gentleman. A more charmless man I have yet to meet. Looking at the other reviews on this page I realise I am not the only person to be horrified by this uncouth person.

Not very friendly it has to be said! When we appeared with 3 children I think they were very tempted to turn us away and were definitely not keen on small people. Such a shame as ours are used to going out and were beautifully behaved. I could not recommend it to anyone with a family - we felt like we were unwelcome and intruding on a private party! Such a shame as we had come a long way especially and will not be back.

We were exploring the area, which is beautiful. I was bursting for the loo and the amenities are few and far between so when we arrived at the pub i politely asked the manager if he wouldn't mind me using the pub ladies even though we were just passing by. He was exceptionally rude and rather agressive when he informed me that I could not. While i understand that they are not a public convenience, I do think they could have been slightly more gracious. Prior to this visit we may have stopped for lunch on the way back, but after the unnecessary verbal assault we were certainly going to push on through to the next village.
