You sound like a very angry food critic who feels that no one but yourself should have an opinion. maybe you should get a life.

You obviously are not a food critic, but then it seems like you know nothing at all. I find it comical how much time people spend finding web-sites to bad mouth good places to eat, if you have a criticism tell a member of staff.. don't be petty and pathetic by writing on a web-site. People like you make me feel sick, call yourself a grown woman.. get a life! I think what the Pells have done with the place is fantastic (comnpared to the state the previous owners left it in), I also think they should carry on doing the job that they have been for the last couple of years. I am a food critic and will be recommending this place to alot of people... Enough said.

I am no food critic but I do know when food is overcooked and poorly presented; also there is a great difference between attentive and intrusive members of staff.

HAVING READ THE COMMENTS MADE BY 'DEB' AND HAVING BEEN TO THE WHITE HART THAT EVENING MYSELF I FEEL THAT THE OPINION EXPRESSED IS NOT INDICITIVE OF THE OTHER CUSTOMERS THAT NIGHT. I HAVE NEVER FELT THAT STAFF HAVE BEEN INTRUSIVE AND NEVER HAVE THEY HOVERED, BUT HAVE BEEN FRIENDLY AND ATTENTIVE. AS TO THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PUDDING, ONE OF MY PARTY ALSO HAD THIS AND WAS MORE THAN HAPPY WITH THIS AND THE REST OF THE MEALS SERVED THAT EVENING. I AMONG MANY OTHERS ARE VERY HAPPY TO RETURN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO THE WHITE HART

I visited The White Hart two weeks ago, I had the belly pork, it was beautifuly cooked and well presented, the crackling was perfect. 'Debs' I think thats called being an attentive staff member, surely you should know that being a somewhat food critic? I recommend a visit to the pub for its fabulous menu and lovely range of wines and real ales.

We informed the female owner that we had booked a table. We were asked if we wanted to sit in the dining room as requested, she told us that it would be quieter than the bar as the 'rabble' were making a lot of noise. One of the 'rabble' was her son David! Our order was taken and we were shown to out table. She hovered like a preying mantis, she was very intrusive. The duck was overcooked and the portion very small for the cost; the battered fish was bland with soggy batter. She then proceeded to tell us, in a very animated way, that the german apple tart had turned out all wrong and was now called apple crumble. If that wasn't bad enough she informed us that the kitchen staff had told her not to serve it as it looked awful.!!

at the time of this visit to the white hart i have noticed that there is a more relaxed atmosphere which has been reflected in a new menu that offers the very best in good, tasty, pub food with a difference. i am not talking about your basic pub food, but you could say this is the white hart version of pub food, with taste and value being formost. the place is fantastic, and if i had this on my doorstep as a local i would be very pleased. even with the problem of drink driving it is well worth the trip, just share the travel, as the beer and wines are excellent too.

What a fantastic pub! I havent been in a while, since they first opened to be exact and since then it has improved again.. the new fire adds a certain warmth to you surroundings and the food is exceptional. I learnt that the pub has just recruited a new Head Chef, and I would like to say well done because they food was excellent. The White Hart is certainly a pub that must be tried and will come into its own on the hot summers days! Thanks for a fantastic night. Gerald Davies, Hereford.

Patchy service, high prices and overcooked beef...if only the White Hart was as good as its marketing! OK at a pinch, but avoid for special meals - you will be disappointed. Try instead the Cider Mill @ Crickhowell, the Beaufort Arms at Raglan or the re-emerging Newbridge at Tredunnock.

We hadn't booked a table originally, and were worried as the front car park was full, we drove round the back to the second car park and found just one space left (The last time we came here you could park anywhere, it was dead!!. Upon arrival we were greated by a young gentleman behind the bar, who spoke very well for his young age, and he introduced us to David the new owner. We were seated in the 'Bar', which had a lovely large fire place and dark red walls.. the setting was fantastic with just the right lights and candle light on the table. I had the 'French Brie' to start (which oozed into my mouth with remarkable texture) and my wife had the ' Soup of the day' (A fantastic pea and mint), for main I had the 'Salmon' beautifully spiced with cajun taste, and my wife had the very succulent 'Pork Tenderlin'.. with not much room left to eat we decided to share a 'Sticky Toffee Pudding' and it was by far the nicest I have ever tasted. Fantastic food in a lovely setting, We shall definatly be back again.. and encourage all to do so!

I do not agree with your statement at all!! the waitress was probably young and she or he may have had little experience, maybe the way you came across was arrogent? I have also been to the pub and I feel that it was wonderful, the food was perfect and I give my full compliments to the chef, I will definatly be returining to the pub with out a doubt!

We had not booked but were pleased to be be offered a table by the bar staff. We were seated, looked at the menu and ordered. My boyfriend ordered soup and I the prawns. The starters arrived and the waitress left, We then called her back to request a spoon for the soup (he did not have one) and some pepper. No problem. Later a blond haired lady came over and said "she's only young, only learning" to which we looked most surprised and asked what was meant by her comments? We were then told that my boyfriend had upset the waitress and that she was distraught. Not happy at thinking we had upset a young girl we called the lady back, who said that we should be more tolerant (we had only asked for a spoon and some pepper) and that she would like us to leave. We were thrown out of the White Hart for asking for a spoon? Never going back and would not recommend it to any of our friends or colleagues. BIG Mistake!
