We've just had an amazing evening at this beautiful village pub. The pub is stunningly pretty - a proper 16th Century thatch. We started out in the pub garden with a pint of very well kept real ale and moved inside where many locals were in lovely conversation . We were quickly included but I couldnt wait to order- huge variety and imaginative dishes, along with some good staples.
I had trout mousse and the stroganoff which was truly the best ever. Hubbie had gorgoeus black pudding fritters and a roast pork belly on appley mash that you could not make it home. And home made chips - fantastic. We finished with the chefs lemon cheescake and a sticky date pudding swimming in toffee sauce. Yummy! Paul & Angela, owners/chefs/bar managers made us feel like VIPs. Great night and we booked for the recommended Sunday lunch - people travel for miles for it... I cant wait!! And so reasonably priced. If you are in Suffolk any time soon - its absolutely worth a visit!

What a great Pub! Picture post card pretty with its thatch and located on a quiet village green 10 mins drive from Sudbury. Three top quality real ales (two gust ales change each week), lovely food in the restaurant all cooked fresh by the chef, much better than normal pub fair but at pub prices. Much more than a beer drinkers pub but for those who like a pint..recent beers include, Timothy Taylors Landlord, Old Growler, Adnams, Black Sheep etc and more obscure local brews such as Brandon Brewery’s Rusty Bucket and Victoria Bitter from Earl Soham. Oh… and they are friendly too.
