I've been many times and it is always a fantastic day out and usually sunny it seems. Cartmel is a lovely little town to visit too. Lots of fun for all ages and if you're lucky you'll win a few quid. Only downside is traffic getting in and out.

Date visited: many times

I have been visiting Cartmel races on most May Bank holidays for over 30 years, with my parents from childhood and now with my own grown up family. I have always found the event to be a great family day out.I am dissapointed however, that the event was changed to evening.Since this I have found, the square rowdy rather than friendly. Pubs and restuarants are closed after the race due to all day drinkers, its rather spoilt an otherwise family event for all ages. We evacuate the village now, immediatley after the race, rather than enjoy the great atmosphere of the after race, when it was day time. I must stress to anyone thinking of attending, based on my comments I have never witnessed any bad behavour as the event is well organised and policed, providing a great day out. I will be there again this year.( next week ) Here's hoping for a nice dry "Evening"
