Eynsham is a delightful village in the county of Oxfordshire, home to nearly five thousand people, it's set close to historic Oxford and the ancient market town of Woodstock. Mellow stone houses that span several centuries are unveiled at every turn. Once famed for it's ancient Benedictine Monastery, today walkers and the inquisitive can take the Abbey Heritage Walk which tells a fascinating story, or possibly the thirteen acres on offer in Eynsham Wood will delight. For a chance to see impressive wildlife there's Cothill National Nature Reserve and if that wasn't enough there's always Chimney Meadow Nature Reserve near Bampton, which has wild flower meadows and lovely walks along the banks of the River Thames. Museum lovers will need extra time as there are many to choose from, whether it's the Oxfordshire Bus Museum with vintage treasures, The Oxfordshire Museum, or the fascinating Oxford University Press Museum which has historic books and documents. Artists should make their way to Eynsham Lock to capture the beauty of Kingfishers, Herons, and the colourful Narrow Boats as they glide past. For ancient architecture take a trip to North Leigh Roman Villa, or possibly the beauty of Blenheim Palace with stunning parkland designed by Capability Brown, sumptuous rooms, and intricately carved ceilings will bewitch all who gaze.
