| 10 Places to Stay

Bundoran is one of Ireland's most popular seaside resorts and a major surfing centre, with excellent opportunities for both beginners and experts. Situated on Donegal's dramatic Atlantic west coast, on the southern shore of Donegal Bay, the town is framed by hills and mountains, and it boasts a promenade and wonderful golden sands where all kinds of beach activities are enjoyed. As well as sea angling, sailing, kite and windsurfing, bodyboarding, kayaking and canoeing, there are hours of fun for all the family on the rollercoasters, rides and games of the seafront Adventure Park. Nearby is the Waterworld centre, which offers pools, water rides, a sauna room and seaweed baths. Meanwhile, in Main Street, there are more great times to be had by both young and old at Glowbowl & Mack Amusements, where the main attraction is tenpin bowling. Bundoran has developed enormously in recent years, and its nightlife includes fine restaurants, pubs laying on friendly traditional music sessions and comedy shows, and venues presenting everything from dance to country music and jazz. A wide range of outdoor pursuits includes golf, walking, cycling and horse-riding, and within half an hour's drive, The Waterbus, departing from Donegal town, takes visitors on an unforgettable trip around the bay.
