Burnham Thorpe is a pretty village close to the north Norfolk Coast, and is home to just over three hundred people. It is on the banks of the River Burnham, and is famed for being the birth place of Horatio Nelson, whose father was Rector here until his death in 1802. The church of All Saints dates back to the 13th Century, and it has many items pertaining to Nelson, who, at the age of twelve joined the Navy and later won victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. The pretty village has attractive houses and cottages, together with interesting shops, pubs, restaurants and a fabulous 17th Century Inn.
