Easton On The Hill is a village in South Lincolnshire, close to Stamford with Medieval streets and narrow cobbled passageways. Be prepared to be impressed with the Easton Walled Garden that has been created over the last four hundred years and covers 12 acres, try to discover the Maze, or Burghley House is just a mile away and you cannot fail to be impressed by the magnificence of this splendid grand Elizabethan House, dating back to 1565, tour around 18 state rooms and see the impressive art collection, ceramics and tapestries, with the state bedrooms, fine furniture, a Deer Park, and lake designed by ’Capability Brown’, and even a ‘Garden Of Surprises’ what more could be wished for. Perhaps a trip on a Steam Locomotive, the evocative Nene Valley Railway travels through beautiful countryside with special events throughout the year there is plenty on offer besides the shop, Museum and Model Railway. Or for a fabulous experience there is always Flag Fen Bronze Age Centre that includes a Museum, reconstructed Round Houses and a real Roman Road, add the Visitors Centre, and history is rewound. Easton On The Hill is a place to visit that you won’t wish to leave.
