Leadenham is a small ‘cliff village’ in Lincolnshire that has a delightful Village green and the ancient spring of ‘St Anne’s Well’ is on the edge of the village, St Swithin’s church is a link with the past built in 1320 on the site of a previous wooden structure, with it’s impressive spire and has many treasures inside to share. Whilst visiting Leadenham there is a rare opportunity close by to discover the Sector Operations Room Museum, which is a World War 11 Operations Room that has been restored authentically complete with period furniture, wartime equipment and historical photographs that really capture the essence of the bravery of the Squadrons that were based here. To rediscover the aircraft there is Newark Air Museum, set on a former WW11 Airfield where 69 planes cover the story of aviation. Or perhaps the creamy coloured façade of Belton House built in 1685 is more for you, the house stands majestically in formal gardens with stunning mirrors and fine furniture. With the Millgate Museum perfectly situated on the banks of the River Trent housing a vast collection inside a Victorian Warehouse where streets, shops and rooms all in period setting wont fail to impress.
