Quorn is a village in the heart of the Charnwood Forest in Leicestershire, surrounded by pretty countryside the fabulous Great Central Railway has a station in the village, whether you journey through for fun or the thrill of travelling by steam, the possibilities of either driving one of the locomotives or dining first class won’t be beaten, the stations have been restored to different eras of the railway’s history. The 12th Century church of St Bartholomew’s was built using Mount Sorrel granite and is worthy of a visit. Or how about talking to the animals, well at least seeing them at Gorse Hill City Farm, complete with Nature Trail and play area makes for an interesting interlude. Or for a journey that takes you on a breathtaking discovery with six themed galleries, space rockets even a 3d mission through the Solar system there is always the National Space Centre, Or how about the National Gas Museum that tells the story and history of gas with many interesting exhibits to see, or there is always the Snibston Discovery Park, set in the heart of the National Forest on the site of a former colliery, exploring technology, and so much more.
