Leigh Delamere is a tiny hamlet in Wiltshire, just two miles to the west of Junction 17 of the M4 motorway. It is also home to an M4 service station of the same name. The village itself comprises of just a small collection of houses, some of which are recently converted almshouses. Their conversion was part of a major modernisation of the hamlet following the demise of Manor Farm. For accommodation at Leigh Delamere, you could choose the Travelodge located at the Service Station. Alternatively you could choose from a number of cottages from Welcome Cottages, who have many charming properties nearby. From here you can visit other parts of the beautiful county of Wiltshire, as well as many other parts of the West Country, all with easy access via the M4. The historic city of Bath is only 12 miles away, with all its Roman history and striking Georgian Architecture. Swindon is just 15 miles away whilst Bristol is 25 miles away. A little closer at five miles away is the market town of Chippenham. Established on a crossing of the River Avon, the history of this town goes back to before Roman times. For a time Alfred the Great had a hunting lodge at Chippenham.
