This little Herefordshire village is tucked away from main roads (off the A417) and is 16 miles from Hereford and about 10miles from Bromyard. Much Cowarne and neighbouring villages provide many inns, riverside walks, fruit farms, vineyards, cider mills and golf. Much Cowarne is ideally located for walking and cycling, in-between the beautiful countryside of the Wye Valley and the rolling Malvern Hills. There are designated cycle routes, signposted pathways and bridleways and the village was even a favourite cycling destination of the famous composer, Sir Edward Elgar (whose birthplace museum is a 15 min drive away). Hampton Court Castle gardens are nearby and the Cotswolds, Welsh Mountains and Stratford-Upon-Avon are within easy day-trip distance. The pub here serves food and is called Fir Tree Inn. There is some accommodation available at Courtyard Cottage and Hopbine Cottage, both being historic stone buildings offering self-catering accommodation.
