Purleigh is a charming village with a sleepy feel set between two rivers in the county of Essex, and is home to just over twelve hundred people. It's surrounded by rich countryside with views across the Blackwater Estuary and is well known for its vineyard. It dates far back into history a legacy of which may be seen with the delightful 14th Century church that's dedicated to All Saints which stands on top of a hill and peeps through a curtain of trees. There's places to stay, a few shops for the essential purchase, and a delightful 14th Century Inn in which to enjoy a coffee or something a little stronger.
