The tiny village of Buckhorn Weston can be found in the beautiful English county of Dorset, about three miles east of Gillingham. The village has only about 330 occupants and lies in the picturesque Blackmore Vale, which sits in the northern part of the county and inspired the likes of Thomas Hardy in writing some of his most famous novels. Accommodation can be found at Buckhorn Weston in the form of The Stapleton Arms; a stylish but unstuffy country pub with accommodation. Featuring a spacious bar, elegant dining room and a secluded garden; the pub offers a great range of draught and bottled beers, quality wines and real food. Upstairs there are four stunning, individually designed and beautifully furnished bedrooms with state of the art bathrooms. Buckhorn Weston provides a perfect start point for those wishing to explore Thomas Hardy Country. There are many fine walks to be had in the area which will allow the visitor to relive many a classic Thomas Hardy tale, including Tess of the D'Urbervilles. Cycling and Horse Riding are also popular pastimes in this area of unspoilt English countryside. The village has its own cricket club, Buckhorn Weston CC, which was formed in 1997.
