Doddiscombsleigh is a lovely village set within the Teign valley in Devon, home to three hundred people. Situated on the edge of Dartmoor, close to the River Teign ensures that walkers and cyclists are kept busy with it’s wildlife and dramatic views. Canonteign Falls is a couple of miles from here, where the magnificent Waterfall crashes some 220 feet over ancient rock formations, in the midst of woodland, there are three walks to discover together with colourful wildlife, visitors are often forgiven for thinking they have reached Paradise… For a dash of history Ugbrooke Park offers 900 years, with fine Robert Adam interiors, impressive paintings and furniture showcase the opulence and elegance of days long past, outside the lakeside walks and stunning design of the grounds by Capability Brown complete this recipe for success. For architecture on a grander scale a visit to Exeter Cathedral will rewind the hands of time to centuries past, or perhaps smaller visitors would prefer Babbacombe Model Village where thousands of miniature buildings jostle for attention. Animal lovers will enjoy Pennywell Farm and Wildlife Centre , there are even trampolines and tractors….Maybe the thought of choosing your own favourite is more pleasing, then Newton Abbot Race Course may just be the answer…..
