High Bickington is a small village dating back to Saxon times, set within stunning Devonshire countryside overlooking the Taw Valley, home to seven hundred people. A walk along the narrow lanes will find pretty thatched cottages and the church of St Mary’s which has interesting links with the past waiting to be discovered. The surrounding area lures walkers and cyclists with striking scenery and it’s position betwixt Exmoor, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor. Rod Danglers linger forever hopeful at Millbrook Lake surrounded by woodland with interesting paths that lead visitors on a voyage of discovery, Artists happily reach for another brush with the perfect setting waiting to be captured. Reverse time at Cobbaton Combat Collection which will share amazing exhibits of Tanks, Ration Books, and Guns crammed to the seams. Or if shopping is yearned for a trip to Exeter will lighten any purse, or perhaps Quince Honey Farm is just the thing, where the busy Bee Colonies can be watched in safety, and the secret of Bee to jar is shared, or there is always the sparkling crystal on offer at Dartington Crystal Glass factory where a tour will show the expertise and craftsmanship needed to create the dazzling pieces made here
