Kingskerswell is a large village positioned in the Aller Valley in Devon, home to under five thousand people. Situated close to Torquay and Paignton it has much to offer, from the 14th Century church of St Mary’s, the clutch of old Medieval buildings, or for younger visitors nearby Babbacombe Model Village which has thousands of model buildings in delightful settings. If that’s not enough take a look at the 4D Theatre experience, or the Model Railway which travels across ravines, and lakes…… or maybe the chance to ride on the real thing will tempt a visit to Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway, the fabulous Steam Locomotives travel through the heart of the English Riviera along the coast to Churston, past the Dart Estuary and across Broadsands and Hookhills Viaducts, two impressive creations highlighting Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s engineering prowess. Newton Abbot Race Course offers the chance of a flutter, or for animal lovers of a different kind Paignton Zoo has everything from Armadillos to Zebras, or how about Pennywell Farm with animals galore, trampolines, tractors and amazing Birds Of Prey Displays. For links with the past Totnes Motte and Bailey Castle was built by the Normans , or there is the impressive ruins of Berry Pomeroy Castle.
