Uffculme is a delightful Devonshire village on the banks of the River Culm in the Blackdown Hills, home to over two and a half thousand people. It was famed for its wool production in the 16th Century, a legacy of which may still be seen at the Cold Harbour Working Museum, where the intricacies of a spinning mill is expertly explained. There is an impressive 12th Century church dedicated to St Marys, which has eight bells, and a Victorian Spire that punctuates the skyline, there is also a Village Square and shops to explore, whilst pleasing walks may be enjoyed along the banks of the Culm.
