Over Peover (pronounced Peever) is to be found in the County of Cheshire just to the south of Knutsford and is the location for one of the grandest Elizabethan Manor Houses set in magnificent landscaped gardens that is still available for the public to view today. The village is also famed for its Grade I listed church, St Lawrence’s, parts of which date from around 1456 although it has been added to over the years, with the present tower being dated at around the mid 18th century. Today Over Peover is a small village that offers easy access to the larger town of Northwich which is nearby as well as Manchester. This proximity to these major towns and cities together with its easy access to the motorway network means that Over Peover remains a true village nestling in the Cheshire countryside. If you’re travelling through Cheshire around Northwich then unless you look very hard it is easy to miss this pretty little village although many people still confuse Over Peover with Lower Peover.
