Sandbach is in Cheshire in the North West of England and is easily accessible for the commuter and visitor, there is easy access by rail and road, it is close to junction 17 off the M6 which in turn leads to the major national motorway network Sandbach is a market town and the town centre is compact with market hall and a number of coffee shops. While you are there take the opportunity to visit the Saxon Crosses which are in the market square, recently restored and there are replicas at the entrance to the market place - these are a faithful reproduction from the late 19th century. The countryside surrounding Sandbach is well known for the number of large ponds that first appeared here in the 1930’s and formed as a result of local brine extraction, many of these are private but they are still popular with ornithologists and anglers. There is more to the surrounding countryside than this – the Cheshire Plains are worth exploring and this is where Sandbach proves itself to be a convenient location. For those who enjoy architecture then the town centre boasts a Grade 1 Listed building, dating from 1656, which is reputedly haunted, then there is the town hall which is home to the indoor market and which is a Grade II listed building.
