The interesting village of Little Shelford is positioned in the county of Cambridgeshire on the eastern edge of England, and is home to nearly eight hundred people. It's separated from the larger village of Great Shelford by the River Cam, Little Shelford dates as far back into history as Anglo Saxon times, where farming played its part in the growth and prosperity of the village. It is surrounded by attractive countryside which tempts walkers to step out, there are a cluster of attractive cottages and houses dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries, and a gentle stroll along Church Street will uncover the ancient church which is dedicated to All Saints, parts of which date back 900 years which has stood the test of time, inside there is a fabulous wagon roof, whilst outside will find an ancient Cross which was erected before the Norman invasion, and a pub in the High Street offering a warm welcome. There's also a handful of restaurants, and a selection of shops catering for that essential purchase, although as the village is only five miles or so from the historic city of Cambridge it's ideally placed, and for those visitors who wish to stay a while longer there is a good choice of comfortable B&B's on offer.
