The picturesque village of Denham is ideally located for the Thames Valley in South Buckinghamshire, just off the A40 and junction 1 of the M40, near Heathrow and Uxbridge. It is very peaceful with many historic buildings, including the beautiful private houses Denham Court and Denham Place, as well as the 15th century church of St Mary. The village is home to Buckinghamshire Golf Club – a parkland course of 18 holes, crossed by the Rivers Colne and Misbourne, and suitable for all standards. The clubhouse is in the Grade II listed Denham Court Mansion. Walking is popular in the area with a circular walk, the Colne Valley trail and other sign-posted walks on offer. These walks encounter the Grand Union Canal, lakes and the 69 acres Denham Country Park. For the air enthusiast there is Denham Aerodrome providing both aeroplane and helicopter-training flights. There are 5 pubs, some serving food, such as The Swan Inn gastro-pub as well as dedicated restaurants Biggles and The Falcon Inn. Fran’s Cottage is a tea shop with home-made cakes set by the canal and only accessible by foot through the woods or by canal barge! Accommodation is mainly in nearby Heathrow, except for Denham Grove – a DeVere hotel (formerly Durdent Court) set in immaculate parkland offering a traditional welcome.
