Ibstone is a pretty village dating back to Saxon times, set in the Chiltern Hills in the county of Buckinghamshire, home to over two hundred and thirty people. There's cottages dating back to the 16th Century, and the small church of St Nicholas which overlooks the Hambledon Valley. The surrounding countryside beckons to walkers and lovers of nature with an abundsance of wildlife. If that sounds a little quiet there is always the opportunity to explore the nearby Market towns of Watlington, Marlow, and Henley-On-Thames. For stunning architecture 12th Century Stoner Park won't fail to please, although much altered, still has it's Long Gallery hung with intricately woven tapestries, or possibly the interesting home of the Victorian Priminster Benjamin Disraeli will forge a link with the past at Hughenden Manor. Recapture the golden age of steam and step aboard a steam locomotive at the Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway, for a different mode of transport there is the River and Rowing Museum which tells an interesting tale. Or for a thrilling adventure into an ethereal world West Wycombe Caves offers a chance to journey through winding passages deep underground with several caverns leading to the Inner Temple which was home to the Hell Fire Club.
