Slough is a busy town in Berkshire which began life as a small settlement in Norman times, There are so many things to see and do during your visit , the hardest decision is what to do first….perhaps ‘The Museum’ which gives an insight into the past, the present and of course the future , has many interesting exhibits on show. Or how about St Laurence’s Church, 900 years old and is the oldest structure in Slough. No visit could surely be complete without an expedition to nearby Windsor, whether it’s the impressive 900 year old Castle with it’s towers and battlements imposing on the skyline, with the opulence of the ‘State Apartments’ or the humbling magnificence of ‘St Georges Chapel’ home to the highest order of chivalry ‘The order of the Garter’, the splendour will grace many an artist page. With historic Eton College founded in 1440, a 15 minute walk from here, why not take the tour and share some of the magic of this wonderful building that has taught Prime Ministers, Royalty and many famous people, enjoy ‘The School Yard’ ‘Chapel’ and ‘Cloisters‘, not to forget the Eton Museum. Legoland is a must for an action packed day out, with fifty interactive rides why not try ‘The Viking River Splash Ride’ or opt for a train ride on the ‘Orient Expedition‘, where snakes, dragons and vultures can be seen, or perhaps the ‘Boating School’ or how about the ‘Indoor Rain Forest‘, of course there are always the 35 million bricks that make up the scenes across Europe. Not to forget the delightful ‘Bekonscot Model Village’ close by, with a total of six model villages add together the outdoor ‘Model Railway’ and you are set for a rewarding day. Slough and the surrounding area offer a kaleidoscope of happy memories.
