Waddesdon is a fascinating village surrounded by beautiful countryside and the Chiltern Hills, set within the county of Buckinghamshire and is home to just over two thousand people. From its small agricultural beginnings many centuries ago it saw lace making, and silk weaving featuring in its growth and development. The village attracts holidaymakers with its pleasing, pretty old world cottages and houses, and the impressive 12th Century church that is dedicated to St Michael and All Angels which has brightly coloured stained glass windows. A stroll around the village will uncover the Village Green, a range of shops, a wealth of restaurants with tempting menus, and a fabulous Victorian Coaching Inn which continues to offer a warm welcome to visitors. High on a hill above the village is the 19th Century Manor House that was built in the style of a 16th Century Chateau for Baron De Rothschild to house his art collection, which also featured in the televised series of Midsomer Murders. Hotels, B&B's, tea shops and bars are all close to hand, and, as it's only six miles or so from the busy market town of Aylesbury its perfectly placed.
