Crowthorne is a small town in Berkshire surrounded by woodland, with three shopping areas and a wealth of places to visit makes for an interesting stay. Yateley Country Park is a mixture of woodland and heathland, with a network of paths where the wildlife can be enjoyed or perhaps fishing in Wyndhams pond, or California Country Park, where raised boardwalks travels through woodland, or maybe a dip for little ones in the paddling pool. If you have ever fancied launching a hydrogen rocket, or crawling through a giant mole hole, meeting a robot owl, or even standing in a giant bubble then a trip to the ’Look Out Discovery Centre’ which is an amazing world of discovery, set in over 2 thousand acres of woodland with Nature Trails, and an adventure playground, or for tired feet pop into the café. Or perhaps the lure of Ascot racecourse beckons, steeped in history started in 1711 by Queen Anne. Close by is Aldershot Military Museum, a collection of uniforms, medals, weapons and furniture will give an insight into a bygone era, take a ride in a tank or gaze upon Howitzers, Chiefton Tanks, or an Air Raid Wardens Shelter used in ‘the blitz.’
