Sonning-On-Thames is a picturesque riverside village with half timbered Tudor houses that will have painters and photographers smiling in anticipation. This delightful village is one of the prettiest along the Thames. Sonning Lock and it’s colourful gardens is lovely for a stroll along the tow path. Or the impressive bridge built in 1775 whose arches spans the River Thames perfectly. The magical scenery surrounding this village is a joy for cyclists and walkers. The Church of St Andrews originally founded in the 7th Century, although parts of the present church dates back to 1310 turns back the hands of time with it’s impressive architecture. Why not visit Dinton Pastures Country Park, set in 335 acres with meadows, no less than 7 lakes and 2 rivers, meandering footpaths take you on a journey of discovery. Or perhaps a trip to a former Mill, now a theatre where plays and musicals are performed, set by the side of the River Thames. Greys Court is a delightful 14th Century house with an enchanting courtyard and tower dating back to 1347, with ornamental gardens cuddled by Medieval walls, what more could possibly be asked for. Sonning and her beauty will dazzle any visitor unashamedly.
