Thatcham is a thriving and busy town in the County of Berkshire, and has been inhabited since Prehistoric times, there is evidence of Bronze and Iron Age settlements and even the Romans have been here, although now the townsfolk number twenty three thousand. Thatcham sits by the River Kennet and the seven hundred acre Conservation Park has the Kennet & Avon Canal flowing through it, Mother Nature’s beauty is on display like a rare painting, why not take a walk around the lake or sample the exhibits, there is even an Animal Adventure Playground at the Discovery Park. Or perhaps artists will reach for another paintbrush as the Kennet Horse Boat Company passes by, where time rewinds as a horse pulls the Barge along the canal. Why not take a curtain call at the Watermill that’s now a Theatre, with enchanting gardens all nestled beside the River Lambourn, the intimate atmosphere is truly magical. Be prepared to be amazed and delighted at Brooklands Museum, set on thirty acres of Motor Racing Circuit and shares it’s history proudly, complete with many original buildings including the Edwardian Clubhouse with enchanting room settings, there are also racing cars, motor cycles and thirty aircraft to admire…….
