Stevington is a charming village on the River Ouse in the County of Bedfordshire, the village is home to just over six hundred people. The Saxon Cross stands at the centre of the village which has late Medieval buildings sprinkled amongst 17th and 18th Century cottages and houses. The Stevington windmill stands proudly overlooking the village, a legacy from centuries past that is still working today. The delightful Church Of St Mary stands on a site occupied for 1100 years, where Pilgrims journeyed in the Middle Ages to see the Holy Well, just as today’s visitor can if they turn left out of the gate and stroll down the hill, the water pours out from a rock that the church is built upon. The Manor House at Stevington has beautiful wonders on display in the gardens and flowery meadow that complete this tapestry of colour…or perhaps the superb architecture and historical links of Woburn Abbey is more for you, with sumptuous furniture and fine paintings the story is only half told, until a visit to the impressive Safari Park is enjoyed. Or, if the thought of seeing a 17th Century Water Mill set in stunning surroundings sounds good, then Bromham Mill is it, step over the artists as they try to capture the scene of the Mill and the impressive bridge with 26 arches…………….
