The village that’s really a Market Town on the southern slopes of the Weald, between the South Downs and Ashdown Forest. The history of this beautiful location radiates at every turn, whether you like to sketch, paint or photograph, the 18th Century houses and buildings that line the high street will be perfect. In the 1820’s 50 coaches a day passed through on their way from London to Brighton. If exploring churches and marvelling at their architecture pleases you, then Holy Trinity which is over 700 years old and displays paintings on the ceiling will do just that. The cluster of cottages that may be approached via a pretty street close by. Whether your game is rusty or on par the nine hole course at The Golf Centre will advise, Or if Dinosaur fossils are more the thing why not try the Museum, the history of Cuckfield and locality is proudly on display. For tired feet and hunger pains how about a super meal at an Elizabethan house - Ockenden Manor in nine acres of grounds, or why not try The Wheatsheaf Inn for a tipple on the outskirts of the village built in 1890 both are sumptuous.
