Teddington is a town that sits on the north bank of the River Thames, famous for it’s fabulous Lock where colourful boats are constantly seen, together with the abundance of wildlife from ducks, swans and kingfishers. It is a pleasing place to dwell whether trying to capture the moment on canvas or lens, or simply enjoying the hustle and bustle. The annual Teddington River Festival rewards it’s visitors with lifeboat demonstrations, music and stalls. Or there is always the opulence of 17th Century Ham House nearby, which has a treasure trove of paintings , and fine furniture, .... Or perhaps the beauty on offer at Morden Hall Park is more for you, where the River Wandle meanders through woodland and meadows, if that’s not enough walk along the river path and discover two Snuff Mills that were used to grind tobacco what more could possibly be asked for…….maybe the impressive architecture and furnishings at the Tudor Palace of Hampton Court will please, with enchanting grounds and parkland where Henry V111, Shakespeare, and Oliver Cromwell have all been. For music lovers the Musical Museum has a vast and stunning collection of music boxes and instruments, with recreated street scene and a concert hall where the Wurlitzer rises up just as it did in the 30’s. Or how about the excitement of Kew Bridge Steam Museum which houses the worlds largest collection of Steam Engines.
