Walton on Thames is a town in the County of Surrey, home to 23,000 people. The Saxon church of St Mary’s has an unusual square flint tower and stands at the highest point of the village where the peel of six bells are frequently heard. Or perhaps the call of ducks will entice you to the fabulous Marina, where colourful yachts are mirrored on the water, or why not climb aboard for one of the boat trips on offer and cruise to Hampton Court Palace. Or perhaps take a leisurely stroll along the Tow Path where it joins the Thames Trail and see the bustle of River life. On the way back take advantage of the River House Barn, complete with Art Gallery, and the chance to catch a Jazz performance or even a Comedy Show or Drama. If all of this sounds a little too gentle a pace, hold onto your hats with a visit to Thorpe Park, with adrenaline pumping rides such as Stealth , Colossus and Vortex, and for younger visitors Fantasy Fish and Ollie Octopus…or there is also Chessington World Of Adventures, where Lions and Tigers and Penguins live, or be amazed at the Sea Life Centre where sea creatures swim in shimmering water…maybe climb aboard the Runaway Train, or Dragon’s Fury or be adventurous and become a keeper for the day.
