Dunvegan is an attractive village on the shores of Loch Dunvegan on the Isle Of Skye in Scotland. Famed for it’s Castle that dates back to the 1200’s. A tour around this architectural masterpiece uncovers it’s intriguing history of Clan battles, and heirlooms, romantic towers and battlements will inspire budding authors and test any artist. Or perhaps the thatched building in the village holds the key to an intriguing tale waiting to be told, Giant Angus MacAskill Museum tells the enthralling story of the tallest Giant whoever lived. Rod Danglers are ever hopeful with the chance to fish on the Loch, or climb aboard for an unforgettable trip to see sharks, whales and dolphins. There are views of mountains with memorable names such as Ben Horneval , Beinn Bhreac, and Macleod’s table Mountain. Or for younger visitors Glendale Toy Museum has toys of yesteryear on display, maybe the chance to see Colbost Croft Museum is one to be taken, the small house, simply furnished gives an insight into a Crofter’s life. The fabulous setting , amazing wildlife, legacy of Clans and Chieftains, is enhanced by breath stealing sunsets and ethereal displays of the Northern lights, Dunvegan’s bewitching spell is everlasting.
