Inchmore is a small historic village in the Highlands of Scotland situated 7 miles north of Inverness close to Inverness Airport. Once known as Bog Roy, Inchmore, is surrounded by magnificent scenery and many historic sites; it is a popular holiday destination and an ideal base for touring the local attractions, there are hotels and holiday accommodation throughout the area and the Old North Inn is a famous old coaching inn in the centre of the village which has been in business for over 270 years. Inchmore also has shops and amenities and an interesting Art Gallery which hosts unique arts events and has exhibits of contemporary visual art. There are cycle routes throughout the area and walking the in the Munros, the Cairngorm mountains and in the scenic Glen Affric. Historic attractions include the Caledonian Canal with boat trips, Urquhart Castle with visitor centre at Loch Ness, the famous battle-site of Culloden; where Bonnie Prince Charlie fought the Butcher of Cumberland in 1746 and the 17th century Moniack Castle Highland Wineries with wine tasting and visitor centre. Inchmore is close to vibrant city of Inverness which has excellent shopping and busy nightlife and there are boat tours on the Moray Firth to watch the dolphins and seals in their natural habitat.
