Hadleigh in Suffolk is one of Britains 50 most historic towns.
In Viking times it was a Royal Town and one of the viking kings who fought Alfred the Great is buried here. In the middle ages Hadleigh had a similar status to Southampton, but with the decline of its wool trade its status diminished.
Today it is a beautiful little town with a high street full of interesting shops, there are plenty of pubs and restaurants, some lovely local walks and lots of historical buildings. Population 8,000
