Rhos on Sea is a sedate seaside village positioned on the northern coast of Wales, and is home to over seven thousand people. The village dates back to Roman times and beyond, a legacy of which remains with the ancient Iron Age Hill Fort set on the top of Bryn Euryn which over shadows the village. There is an interesting mix of architecture from across the years from the impressive church mainly dating from the 15th century, to the intriguing tiny chapel which was built in the 6th Century and is dedicated to St Trillo, it's said to be the smallest church in the country, inside is short on space but full of charm, a closer look at the altar will discover that it is built over an ancient Holy Well. All visitors will enjoy a stroll along the promenade with bracing sea breezes, tempting beaches and pleasing views. There is a good choice of shops to suit most budgets, Tea Shops, pubs, restaurants and tempting Ice cream parlours. The picturesque Harbour sets a perfect scene for Artists and photographers, and is where legend says that Welsh Prince Madoc ap Owain Gwynedd left on his historic journey in the 12th Century when it is claimed that he discovered America 300 years before Columbus.
